Board of Education News:  Programs That Make a Difference

 

       At the January 8, 2009 meeting, the “Coventry Pride” section featured the Recognition of CNH teacher Dr. Aldorigo Scopino.  Dr. Scopino recently received the CCSU 2008-2009 Excellence in Teaching Award.  Dr. Bernard noted that over the decades Dr. Scopino has been honored for his many fine accomplishments, he is an outstanding educator, and an award winning instructional leader.  Dr. Bernard presented Dr. Scopino with a token of appreciation and recognition.  Dr. Scopino thanked the Board of Education for being honored.

       That same evening the CNH Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country Teams were recognized for their outstanding Fall 2008 Season.  Dr. Bernard presented a $200 certificate for the team to use.  William Cherniske, the teams’ coach and CNH teacher, expounded on the students accomplishments and thanked the assistant coach Matt Cacopardo and the high school team coach Ed Grace for their support.
