Coventry Firefighters Visit

North Coventry Fire Department firefighters enthralled our students on Friday, October 14, with special presentations in recognition of Fire Prevention Week.  Boys and girls in all classes heard from firefighters about the importance of preventing fires and keeping safe in case of emergency.  Students were reminded about staying low to the floor in a smoky room as well as the “Stop, Drop, Cover, and Roll” procedure to minimize injury.  Students were asked to make sure their parents keep fresh batteries in their home smoke detectors, and were told it is important that families practice evacuating their homes from at least two exits as well as designating a safe meeting place outside.
