The Box Tops Challenge will now be held from 11/14 through 11/18 so send your child in with them during that week to try to win a chance at pizza and a story with Mrs. Moyer while raising money for our school!

Fall Fundraiser orders have been submitted. If you volunteered to help sort and/or work pick-up, we will be in contact with you this week.

Apples for Teachers will be posted during parent/teacher conferences and until Thanksgiving break for items needed by CGS teachers/staff. Please consider picking Apples and purchasing an item or two.

Janet Sirois is Chairing Teacher Appreciation during conferences. If you have not already signed up, but wish to bring in a dish for teachers to share or drop off an item, please contact her asap at rsjs@snet.net.

The CGS PTO would like to welcome you and your child to an exciting environment in which to learn.

Teachers, staff, parents and children all work together to make CGS an exciting environment to learn and have fun.

The PTO sponsors many events for our children throughout the year. Attached you will find a description of the PTO and the many programs and activities sponsored by the CGS PTO. In order to make these activities and programs work, we need lots of support! Our school and our PTO is only as good as the wonderful people who help us volunteer and run it throughout the school year! Please, take the time to read the following pages to become familiar with the PTO and what we offer.

We have also included both a membership and a volunteer form. Please submit the membership form if you are interested in being a PTO member. If you can volunteer your time for one or more of this year’s programs, please fill out and submit the volunteer form. Your involvement- no matter how much- is so appreciated! Forms can be returned at any time to the CGS office.

The 2010-2011 CGS PTO board is looking forward to a great year. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our organization throughout the year. We will have a PTO booth that you can stop by at the Open House on Tuesday, September 28th.  We hope you will join us for our first meeting of the new school year on Monday, September 13th at 6:30PM. You are also welcome to contact any board member at any time with questions, ideas or suggestions.

Yours truly,

The PTO Board

What is the CGS PTO?

The CGS PTO is an organization consisting of parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, school staff and administrators. We all have different ideas, talents and schedules but our common goal is the desire to make our children’s school experience the best it can be.

Monthly meetings provide the opportunity for all to share in the process of making policies and activities that affect CGS children.

CGS PTO membership allows parents to show their support for our school, community and most importantly, our children.

The CGS PTO raises money for activities and programs that are not paid for through public funds.                (One example would be to help defer the cost of field trips)

The CGS PTO strengthens the relationship between school and home through interaction between teachers and parents.

How Can You Be Involved?

Do what you can, when you can, how you can. Any and all participation is welcomed.

Attend monthly CGS PTO meetings (free childcare is provided). This ensures that the lines of communication are open, representing the thoughts and ideas of all parents.

Volunteer to work on or chair a CGS PTO event or committee.

Bring your child and family to some of the many PTO sponsored events, and enjoy the quality time doing fun family activities. Also, take the time to meet with your child’s teacher, classmates and their families.
