CNHMS BAND

Any 5th grade student who has taken an instrument in the intermediate school and has continued throughout the year may join the 6th grade band.

The CNHMS has a 6th grade band and a combined 7th and 8th grade band.  In addition to these groups we also have a 7th and 8th grade Pop Ensemble.

The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands have 2 concerts each year.  One concert is in December and one is in May.  There is also an ensembles concert held in March.  This is a concert where soloists or ensembles perform. The performers for the ensemble concert are selected by audition.

Every band student attends an instrumental lesson which meets once during the 6 day rotation schedule for a 23 minute session.  Lessons are a pull out program.  Band meets twice during the 6 day rotation schedule.  Band takes place during the focus period and is not a pull out. 

During the year students have the opportunity to audition for Eastern Regionals which is an honors band for middle school musicians.
