Dr. Beth Giller, Principal

Welcome Back. As the principal of G.H.Robertson school, I welcome all new and returning students to G.H.R.

I am honored to be the principal at George Hersey Robertson Intermediate School. The journey which brought me to Coventry was a long winding road.

I originally dreamed of being a detective and as such my undergraduate degree is in Criminal Justice. I ventured into insurance investigations and remained there until I decided to stay home with my children. I was an active volunteer in both community and school organizations, eventually becoming the elementary school’s PTO president for two years. I loved being a part of my children’s classrooms and education, so the road led me to school to earn my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I worked as academic support in 2nd grade until I obtained by first full time position teaching fifth grade science and social studies. From there I moved to sixth grade, teaching language arts for many years. I returned to school to earn my administrative certificate and doctoral degree, and worked as the Interim Assistant Principal at Suffield Middle School. I had the opportunity to be the facilitator of many professional development workshops in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. I hope to instill my love of learning in all members of the GHR learning community.

Welcome to the George Hersey Robertson Intermediate School website. Please take a few moments and acquaint yourself with the links. I believe you will find the site easy to maneuver and full of valuable information. I encourage you to check our website frequently for updates about happenings and events at GHR.

I encourage you to be active in your child’s education. While it seems like many years ago, becoming an active participant in my own children’s education is what brought me to become an active participant in your child’s classroom. I feel fortunate that my journey has brought me to Coventry.
