Action Steps

  • Collaborate with the NEASC liaison to schedule and complete the Self-Study in preparation for the 2028 Decennial Visitation.
  • Engage faculty teams in developing responses on the five NEASC Standards for Accreditation and utilize NEASC surveys to gather input from students, parents, and faculty to include in the report.

Initiative Achievement

The district made significant progress in advancing instructional quality and preparing for accreditation through alignment with the standards of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The Curriculum Cabinet completed the district’s Framework for High Quality Instruction, directly supporting Standard 2 of NEASC’s Standards for Accreditation, which focuses on student learning and effective instructional practices.

At Coventry High School, faculty and staff have been engaged in the NEASC Self Study process, highlighting the comprehensive programs and support available to students and families. The process formally began with a NEASC orientation in August 2025 led by liaison Fran Kennedy from NEASC, during which the school established its Steering Committee, Standard Writers, and work groups.

In October 2025, NEASC Opinion Surveys were administered to students, parents, and staff, providing valuable data to inform the Self Study and serve as key evidence. Throughout the year, dedicated professional development and faculty meeting time has supported staff training, evidence collection, collaborative discussion, and report writing.

The Self Study Report is on track for completion by May 2026, at which point it will be submitted through the NEASC portal in preparation for the Collaborative Conference scheduled for Fall 2026. Preparations for the visiting team are already underway, including planning for accommodations and hospitality.

This work reflects a comprehensive and collaborative effort to ensure alignment with NEASC standards while continuously improving instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
