Coventry High School Girls Basketball Team Wins Back-to-Back State Championships

The Coventry High School (CHS) girls basketball team captured the CIAC Division III State Championship title on Sunday, March 22, with a hard-fought 54–49 victory over Seymour High School at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The win caps an outstanding 2025–2026 season for Coventry, as the Patriots finished with an impressive 25–2 overall record. This victory marks the second consecutive year that the program has secured the CIAC Division III state championship, solidifying its place among the top teams in Connecticut.

Throughout the championship game, Coventry demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and composure under pressure, holding off a determined Seymour squad in a closely contested matchup.
