On Monday November 14, three students from the Coventry High School Band participated in the American School Band Director Festival. This festival was hosted at Maloney High School in Meriden. Students rehearsed all day, along with students from eighteen other schools across Connecticut, which culminated into a concert that evening. Students were able to rehearse and perform under the direction of guest conductors. Senior, Brianna Twerdy, performed on the flute in the Wind Ensemble under the direction of CWO Jeffrey Spencer from The United States Coast Guard Band. Freshmen, Charles Dunlap on the flute, and Alexander Campbell on the trombone, performed in the Symphonic Band under the direction of James Jackson from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. Coventry High School Music Band students represented themselves, and the community, very well.
