Coventry High School Center Stage Drama Co. Presents Annie
The Coventry High School (CHS) Center Stage Drama Company proudly presents the beloved Broadway musical Annie, with performances March 5–7 at 7:00 p.m. in the Veterans Auditorium at CHS. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
With a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin, Annie tells the timeless story of a spirited young orphan whose optimism transforms everyone around her.
Set in New York City during the Great Depression, the musical follows little Annie as she leaves the orphanage and finds herself in the home of the wealthy Oliver Warbucks. Along the way, she attempts to escape the clutches of the villainous Miss Hannigan and her scheming brother, Rooster. Annie’s unwavering hope and determination ultimately inspire not only those closest to her, but even President Roosevelt and his Cabinet. With unforgettable songs and a heartwarming message, Annie will leave audiences believing that “the sun will come out tomorrow.”
