Coventry High School Girls Basketball Team Receives 2026 Sportsmanship Award
The Coventry High School (CHS) Girls Basketball Team has been awarded the 2026 Sportsmanship Award by the Central Connecticut International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO), Board 6.
The award is presented annually to the program that best demonstrates sportsmanship throughout the entire season. Consideration is given to the conduct and professionalism displayed by coaches, players, administrative staff, scorers, table workers, and all individuals who assist and interact with officials on game days.
Board 6 member Emily Newman-Savino praised the Coventry program for its commitment to sportsmanship and leadership.
“It is a strong reflection on your overall administration and leadership skills,” said Newman-Savino. “This is a very important award in our organization. We are happy to present this to the Coventry girls program.”
IAABO Board 6 serves 66 high schools throughout central Connecticut and recognizes programs that consistently model respect, integrity, and positive sportsmanship both on and off the court.
The award reflects the dedication of the girls basketball program and school community to creating a positive and respectful athletic environment.
