On June 2, 2021, students and staff at Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School (CNH) went all out to support Wigs for Kids. This organization provides no cost wigs for children who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatments, burns, alopecia, and other medical issues. Their mission is to “help children look themselves and live their lives.”

Grade 7 students, Lillian O’Neil and Sally Omicioli, along with staff member, Debby Page, had their hair cut to donate to Wigs for Kids. Fellow students did some of the cutting while the rest of the grade enthusiastically cheered them on. In addition to the hair donations, students and staff came together to give a monetary contribution.

This is just one of the examples of CNH giving to their community this year. Other organizations that benefited were: The Salvation Army, PJ Day to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Coventry Human Services, and Two Tiny Hearts Fund. Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School truly cares about giving back to the community.
