Paula Sandahl

Coventry Public Schools will host a School Security Forum on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Media Center (LMC) located within the Coventry Middle/High School complex. The district welcomes all families and community members to attend and participate in this important conversation about school safety.

Attendees are asked to enter through the LMC entrance, which is accessible via the middle school parking lot.

The forum will provide a high-level overview of Coventry’s comprehensive approach to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff. Presenters will include:

  • Dr. David J. Petrone, Superintendent of Schools
  • Ted Opdenbrouw, District Security Specialist
  • Chief Eric Peterson, Coventry Police Department

“We are committed to transparency and collaboration when it comes to school safety,” said Superintendent Dr. David J. Petrone. “This forum is an opportunity for families and community members to learn more about our security practices and to address any questions or concerns they may have.”

The event is open to the public, and community participation is strongly encouraged. A virtual option will also be available via Zoom for those unable to attend in person:
