Each year, students from the Coventry High School (CHS) Music Department audition for the Connecticut Music Educators Eastern Region Festival. Students work on audition music, and then audition for the judges who provide them with feedback. If their score is high enough, they are selected to participate in the festival ensemble. Students from eastern Connecticut come together, under the direction of guest conductors, to rehearse for one weekend at the University of Connecticut. This culminates into a concert for family and friends at the Jorgensen Theatre.

This school year, seven CHS students attended auditions on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at East Lyme High School. The CHS Music Department is proud to announce that three students participated in the festival ensembles on January 6-7, 2023. Congratulations to Ashlyn Ackroyd (Treble Choir), Paige Belsito (Mixed Choir), and Brianna Twerdy (Band).
