Dear Parents/Guardians,

Per legislation, we are required to notify you we have been alerted that the educational resource Edmodo was recently compromised. Edmodo is a classroom collaboration tool used by many educators throughout the world and had previously been used in a limited number of classrooms at Coventry Public Schools.

The breach compromised student and teacher accounts by only disclosing usernames, email addresses, and encrypted passwords. To our understanding, no one is currently using Edmodo but some had accounts from previous years.

It is important to note that, to date, there are no specific indications or evidence that any of Coventry Public Schools' accounts were included in the hack.

Coventry Public Schools treats the privacy of our students with the utmost priority. You will be notified immediately if there are any changes to this situation.
