George Hersey Robertson Intermediate School (GHR) is pleased to announce there were three fifth grade students who were accepted into the Elementary Honors Chorus at this year’s Connecticut Music Educators Association conference. GHR students Ryan Schumacher, Lilly Pascino, and Bridget Reynolds will be performing with other fifth and sixth grade students from around the state on March 31 at the Connecticut Convention Center . This select group will participate in the 2023 Elementary Honors Festival which includes rehearsal and performance under regionally and nationally recognized conductors, sectionals, lunch with many new fellow musicians, and a culminating concert to share all that they have put together that day.

This is part of a three-day conference when music educators from around the state gather to learn more about their craft, as well as enjoy performances by many different student performing ensembles. In addition to the experience, students receive a mp3 recording of the performance. GHR students will be joined by their music teacher, Mr. Nick Tedeschi, who will also be giving a presentation at the conference about “Surviving Your First Three Years of Teaching.”
