Parent Teacher Conferences
You should be receiving an email in the next week from your child/children’s classroom teachers regarding signing up for our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be held on:
- Wednesday, November 5, 2025 – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm & 5:40 pm to 7:20 pm
- Thursday, November 6, 2025 – 1:00 pm to 3:40 pm
- Friday, November 7, 2025 – 1:00 pm to 3:40 pm
If you do not receive a link from your student’s teacher please contact them directly. Please contact your child’s teacher or the main office if you have any questions or problems signing up via Google Calendar.
Bus Safety
If your child does not come home from school at the expected time and you do not know his or her whereabouts, please contact the following in the order indicated:

- Bus concerns involving scheduling/bus routes should be directed to Christian Marcinczyk, District Transportation Public Relations Liaison, at 860-742-7334.
Literacy O’Lanterns!
It’s time to celebrate our love of literacy through family pumpkin decorating! All students are invited to decorate a pumpkin with a favorite character from a book or design a book cover. You can use paint, Sharpies, carve or use any materials you wish! Bring your pumpkin to GHR main office beginning on October 15th, and we will display it in our library where all students will be able to view them. You can visit our Digital backpack on the Coventry Public Schools website under our school! This is where you can find many of our flyers and other communications.
GHR FUN RUN/ 5K
Wednesday, October 22nd- OPEN to all students WITH parents at no cost!
GHR is excited to host our very popular annual Fun Run and 5K Run! The races will begin at 4:00 p.m. starting with the 1 Mile Fun Run followed by the 5K Run. Students and their parents are welcome to participate in the races or be a supportive fan. We welcome all types of participation and hope you can join us for this fun event. All students running in the race must be accompanied by an adult. For more information and to sign-up!

Open Door Meetings
Superintendent Dr. David J. Petrone has announced the schedule for his Open Door Meetings for the 2025-26 school year. These sessions will be held virtually, with the meeting link available on the district website. Open Door Meetings provide an opportunity for open communication, where parents and community members are invited to join, ask questions, and learn more about our school system.
- Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 a.m; Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (budget focused)

GHR School Store - THIS FRIDAY! - October 17th - Volunteers needed for the rest of the year, Sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/4fymettw
- All items are less than $2 - most are $1 or less.
- Children shouldn't bring more than $5 for school store
- Children will be limited to no more than 5 items for purchase
- Store will be located in the Gym Lobby, and available from dropoff until 8:30am (Volunteers are needed from 8am-8:45am)
Lyman Pies
Orders Due by Next Monday, Oct.20. - CGS & GHR PTOs are partnering again for the annual Lyman Orchards Pie Fundraiser. Proceeds benefit the students & teachers with Family Fun Night and other events, guest speakers and assemblies, and even playground supplies! Pies are delivered frozen and must be picked up on 11/19 at CGS from 4-6pm. Just in time for Thanksgiving dinner!
Box Tops for Education
Don't want to download the app? - send in your receipts and a volunteer will scan the receipts to earn extra money for the school!
Earn easy money for the school download the Box Top app on your phone (use referral code:W0TW14YO) and scan 1 qualifying receipt and the school automatically gets $5! This is National Box Tops Week. There are extra bonus offers and double box tops all week for every receipt you scan! Please consider having other adults in your household download it as well. Just scanning 1 receipt per new account gives the school a boost and helps fund fun assemblies for the kids!
