Attendance Matters Focus
Every student, Every classroom, Every day. #attendtodayCT
Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks. Attending School regularly helps students feel better about school and themselves. Building trusting relationships that promote belonging is fundamental to improving student attendance and engagement. Students are more likely to attend school if they feel safe, connected and supported.
From Last Week
Holiday Food Drive
From November 15- December 15, please consider donating to our GHR Holiday Food Drive. Student Council will be visiting classrooms to share information about collecting items to support Coventry Human Services. Additionally, we will be having a friendly competition among the grades. Items can be dropped off in the gym lobby foyer, in boxes by grade. Items for donation include things like: Canned fruit vegetables, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, coffee/tea, juice, hot cocoa, dessert mixes, etc. Thank you in advance for your consideration!
From Dr. Petrone (Email from November 13th)
You may recall, in September I informed you that Coventry Public Schools will be embarking on a journey to evaluate our current facilities and develop a long-term plan to support our students and to maximize efficiencies. To begin, a Community Engagement Presentation has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 6 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Library Media Center at the middle/high school complex.
As I previously noted, this multi-year initiative will require the support of the community and would not be complete without obtaining input from internal and external stakeholders. Refreshments and sandwiches will be served during this information session. To be sure we plan accordingly, please let us know if you will attend by calling or emailing my office at 860-742-7317 x2 or firstname.lastname@example.org by December 1.
As we get underway with after school activities and clubs, please be aware that the annual PowerSchool update must be completed, as well as any device fees paid, for students to attend after school activities. Please contact the office for questions or if you need assistance with the update or fees.
