Dear Parents/Guardians,

Per legislation, we are required to notify parents of any educational resources used within the district that have had data breaches.  As such, we are writing to inform you that one of our vendors experienced a data breach of an application which houses student data for Coventry Public Schools.  

We were recently notified of an incident that affected the security of some of your child's information in PowerSchool, our student information system.  According to PowerSchool, the affected student table included student demographic information - no social security numbers or email addresses were associated with the breach.  PowerSchool has stated that the incident has been contained and through their investigations do not anticipate the data being shared or made public.  PowerSchool also shared that the information has been deleted without being copied or disseminated.  

Coventry Public Schools treats the privacy of our students with the utmost priority.  You will be notified immediately if there are any changes to this situation.
