On behalf of all CGS staff members, thank you for your patience and support as everyone adjusts to new routines and schedules. The first couple of weeks has been a wonderful experience for me and I believe has been both exciting and tiring for all of us. As we look forward to the first full week of school, here are a few updates/reminders:
PowerSchool Information:
Annual Update Forms are now available through PowerSchool. These forms MUST be completed as soon as possible. Forms are necessary to ensure we have accurate up-to-date information in case of emergency. All Annual Update Forms MUST be completed for students to attend field trips (the first is in mid-October). To access, please login to your PowerSchool account and look for the Forms link in the left hand navigation. The Annual Update forms are on the first, General Forms tab. A general guide for this process can be accessed by clicking on this link-A general guide for this process can be accessed by clicking on this link - Accessing Annual Student Update. To help provide support to all parents/guardians in this process, members of the IT department will be available through our help desk by emailing us at help@coventryct.org. All directions, including videos, have been posted on our website on the Annual Student Update page.
Attendance: If your child will be out due to illness or injury please call (860-742-4558), email our school nurse (adunnack@coventryct.org) or enter the absence into PickUp Patrol by 9:30 am. This will allow time for Nurse Dunnack to notify your student’s teacher. Any planned absences can be reported in advance. All unverified absences will be documented as unexcused.
Extra Clothes: We strongly recommend having a seasonally appropriate change of clothes in your child’s backpack/cubby in case of an accident, illness or spill.
Medication drop off: If your student has a diagnosis which requires medication to be available during school hours there will need to be an up-to-date medication authorization form on file with the CGS Health Office. (these forms can be found on our website) All medications MUST be transported to and from CGS Health Office by an adult, students are not allowed to transport medication of any kind. For questions please contact our school nurse, Ashley Dunnack, at adunnack@coventryct.org .
