Academics

For all of our students, we offer a wide range of courses that bear college credits and encourage our students to speak to their teachers and guidance counselors about the many benefits of enrolling in Advanced Placement courses. We have Advanced Placement courses in AP English Literature, AP English Language, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Research, AP Statistics, AP U.S. History, AP Art History, AP Psychology, AP World History, AP Computer Science, AP Economics, AP Music Theory, and AP Seminar.

In addition to our Advanced Placement courses, Coventry High School has entered into agreements with multiple universities to offer a variety of Dual Enrollment course offerings, where all students at Coventry High School can earn both high school and college credit while taking a course at Coventry High School.  In addition to our long standing partnership with UCONN Early College Experience (ECE), we have dual enrollment agreements with Eastern Connecticut State University, The University of Bridgeport, Quinnipiac University, Sacred Heart University, and Goodwin University.  Please click on the link to our Coventry High School Program of Studies to see the courses available to all of our students for dual enrollment credit.

While we are not offering college credit through the Virtual High School Program, students are able to access other challenging curriculum not currently offered in our school. Our teachers also customize learning for students by providing opportunities for independent studies through which individualized course work is available.

As I am sure you are aware, we also have some exceptional elective course offerings which include vocational education preparation. Challenge yourself by committing to academic excellence and exploring the wide range of courses available to you and make choices for your high school program that will prepare you well for post-secondary learning.
