Senior Portfolio Open House FAQs
When do I have to be there?
When can I go home?
You must have had at least 3 teachers check off your portfolio before you are free to leave.
Who has to come?
Every Senior who is expecting to participate in Graduation and receive a CHS Diploma.
What's the time limit?
Teachers leave the building at 8:30. You must have a minimum of 3 teachers PASS your portfolio to GRADUATE (pass the Portfolio). This could require more than 3 teachers viewing it/checking it off.
What if I'm late?
You may not have the time to earn 5 passing grades, therefore you would have to give a SUCCESSFUL FORMAL PORTFOLIO PRESENTATION TO A GROUP OF TEACHERS AFTER SCHOOL HOURS in order to graduate. You would also be placed in a "Portfolio Enrichment" 4th quarter.
What if I can't be there?
See the principal to explain your extenuating situation ASAP. You cannot graduate without your portfolio earning the approval of teachers at the Portfolio Open House.
Where is it ?
Sign-in will be in the Library Media Center at 6:00. You will be assigned to a computer in the LMC. Some students may be assigned to "Lab 56" if all of the computers and laptops are taken.
How does it work?
One student per computer. You stand by your assigned computer with your Portfolio up on the screen. You display your "home page" or introductory slide or file. You may also browse or display for them as they check off items.
What if I don't go?
You would have to give a SUCCESSFUL FORMAL PORTFOLIO PRESENTATION TO A GROUP OF TEACHERS AFTER SCHOOL HOURS in order to graduate.
What if I transferred?
Transfer students will be expected to complete the full Portfolio, but those students may be given special consideration if they receive an "I" at the Portfolio Night, but have shown a conscientious, honest effort to fulfill most of the objectives after transferring in Senior year. If you aren't receiving a CHS Diploma, then you aren't required to do the Portfolio (exchange students, etc.)
What if I don't show up?
You are not able to graduate.
How will I be scored?
