It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I introduce myself, Jennifer DeRagon, as the new principal of G.H.R. I am honored and humbled to be your new principal, and I look forward to getting to know each of you and your children this year. G.H.R. has a wonderful reputation and I only hope to continue your positive school spirit and strong school community as we work together to help our children grow and succeed.
I am a familiar face to many, as I’ve worked in the district for the past seven years, first as the CHS Reading Consultant, and then as the K-12 Literacy Specialist. Prior to coming to Coventry, I was a fourth and fifth grade teacher for nearly a decade. As a former elementary school teacher myself, I know how critical it is that families and the school work together to support children. This partnership is backed by significant research demonstrating the correlation between parent involvement and student achievement. I hope to continue to strengthen these bonds and urge you to become as involved as possible in GHR, whether it’s joining the PTO, volunteering in classrooms, or attending celebrations and events. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time regarding questions, concerns or ideas you may have throughout the school year.
