Centralized Registration Information and School Orientations – August 4, 2026
Coventry Public Schools is excited to welcome students and families to the 2026–27 school year! Below is important information regarding new student registration, PowerSchool access, and school-specific orientation events.
First Day of School
Wednesday, August 26, 2026 – Full Day for all PK–12 students.
PowerSchool Parent Portal & Annual Forms
Families will receive instructions before school begins on how to access their child’s information through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This system allows parents/guardians to update student information and electronically sign all annual district forms.
New Student Registration
Online registration for all new students is now open. To register:
1. Visit www.coventrypublicschools.org
2. Click “Registration”
3. Complete the Pre-Registration form (links are provided)
4. Once approved, you will receive an email from CoventryRegistration with further instructions.
No computer access? Contact Ms. Cathie Drury at 860-742-7346 x4278 to arrange computer use at a school site.

Hale Early Education Center (HEEC)

• Come & See Day: Tuesday, August 25, 2:00–3:00 p.m. Visit classrooms, meet teachers, and tour the center.
Coventry Grammar School (CGS – Grades K-2)

• Kindergarten Storytime & Tour: August 14, 12:00–1:00 p.m. (Registration Required) • Principal on the Playground: August 17, 2:00–3:00 p.m.
• K–2 Meet & Greet: August 25, 8:30–9:30 a.m.
Meet teachers and enjoy a bus ride for Kindergarten students.

George H. Robertson School (GHR – Grades 3-5)

• Tours with the Principal (Gr. 3 & New Families):
o Monday, August 17: 9:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. o Thursday, August 20: 3:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m.
No appointment necessary. Tours last ~45 minutes.
• Meet Your Teacher: August 25, 2:30–3:30 p.m.
Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School (CNH – Grades 6–8)

• Grade 8 students may need a math placement exam.
• Grade 6 Welcome Walkthrough: August 19, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Self-guided tours to explore classrooms, lockers, and school layout.
Coventry High School (CHS – Grades 9–12)

• New students will schedule a meeting with their school counselor after registration.
• Grade 9 Welcome Walkthrough: August 19, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Self-guided tours to explore classrooms, lockers, and school layout.
• First Day Advisory: Students will report to assigned Advisory rooms (posted in school) to receive their schedules.
Athletics Info

• Sports start dates:
o Football: August 12 o Cross Country, Volleyball, Soccer: August 17
• Athletes must have a current physical on file (valid 13 months).
